YOU CAN COUNT ON IT:
The weather in Puerto Vallarta Mexico is nearly ALWAYS perfect!

Puerto Vallarta is one of the world's premier vacation destinations, renowned for its genuine traditional ambience situated on a huge bay of beautiful sandy beaches.

Vallarta isn't a developed resort where it's easy to forget you're in a different country this is REAL Mexico, complete with cobblestone streets, colonial architecture, beautiful weather, and friendly smiles.

Travel & Leisure magazine voted this region as having the best beaches in Latin America, and according to Condé Nast Magazine, Puerto Vallarta Mexico is the "World's Friendliest International City".

With its traditional Mexican architecture and gold-sand beaches bordered by jungle-covered mountains, Puerto Vallarta is one of the loveliest spots on the globe. Vallarta maintains a small-town charm despite boasting lodging ranging from small and quaint hotels and rentals to sophisticated resorts, great restaurants, a thriving arts community, active nightlife, and a growing variety of eco-tourism attractions.

The city combines original ethnic culture with today's resort amenities, reflected in an assortment of stimulating activities and convenient accommodations. Wedding parties, couples, and families come to this tourism hub to enjoy Puerto Vallarta's diverse vacation choices. Puerto Vallarta's geographical diversity is represented in its mountains, jungles, rivers, and waterfalls. And the weather is always GREAT!

As Puerto Vallarta's popularity has grown, so has the region. Luckily it hasn't gotten crowded, since we're situated on Banderas Bay (Bay of Flags'), one of the Pacific Ocean's largest natural bays. Thus, "Vallarta" now comprises the entire coast of the bay (spanning parts of two states) from Punta Mita at the Northern tip to Mismaloya and beyond to the south of the city of Puerto Vallarta.

"The Puerto Vallarta Rainy Season"

"The Rainy Season" starts sometime in June or July, and generally lasts for 3-4 months. Rainy Season means hot (but humid), beautiful days until mid-afternoon, when you'll notice clouds gathering their strength to break across the mountain ridges.

When they do, you'll experience an incredible display of lightning and thunder and a deluge that may last anywhere from 1/2-hour to a couple hours. The rain cools the air and rinses the dust from the streets, and the clouds usually clear away for a beautiful moon-lit night.

During Rainy Season, these displays are a regular occurance...at least once every two- or three-days, and not uncommonly nearly every day for a couple weeks at a time. 'Locals' and regular visitors regulate their days accordingly, wisely planning to be taking a siesta (nap), or safely covered in their favorite establishment with a frosty margarita to enjoy the show! Hurricanes: The huge Banderas Bay ('Bay of Flags') is considered Puerto Vallarta's natural protection against hurricanes, but doesn't make us immune to them. The first hurricane in over 50 years side-swiped Vallarta in October of 1991, and while the 2-hour wind-storm caused only relatively minor damage, the following surge waves washed out many a beach restaurant, a few hotel lobbies, and parts of the Malecòn. The weather was beautiful the next day, all was put back together again very quickly and better than before, and Puerto Vallarta won't be worrying about another hurricane for another few decades.
