After all, you don’t want to be in amongst the tourists; you want real Paris. So, here’s a guide to our favourite cocktail bars in the city of Love.
Bound Bar
This is the home of the young and the beautiful. Quite possibly the rich too, as prices are quite exclusive. You can eat or drink here; expect a full cocktail, wine and food menu to keep your occupied. Only down side is the bar can get quite crowded late at night, so if you’re looking for a chilled out atmosphere, this isn’t the place for you. However, if you’re looking for a mix of true Parisian buzz with an international appeal, Bound Bar is the place to be.
Le Fumoir
For a chilled out atmosphere, with leather sofas and a selection of international newspapers, Le Fumoir is the only place to be. As the name would suggest, this bar is a modern twist on an old smoking room. The brunch is particularly advisable and so is the evening bar. You’ll feel as if you’ve waked in to a modern day Godfather film; you may even be enticed to spark up a cigar. This bar is a favourite with locals and is well worth a visit any time of the day.
Ice Kube Bar
Yep, you’ve guessed it; Ice Kube Bar is one of the ever trendy ice sculpture bars that seem to be appearing in almost every cosmopolitan city. However, being the only one in Paris guarantees its originality and appeal. Set in a hotel, all non guests pay an entrance fee, but this does include gloves, a warm jacket and pretty much all the vodka you can drink. This bar is extremely popular with an arty, designer conscious, journalistic, young crowd and is definitely worth a visit even if only for its novelty factor.
